CAN'T IMPORT PHOTOS/CONNECT TO MAC AFTER IOS10 UPDATE

Trying to import photos/videos from my iphone 6s to my macbook pro 09. Before updating to ios10 i had no issues doing this. I selected TRUST this computer when the notification pops up on my phone. Now here's the problem, i receive this message on my computer when opening image capture and iphoto. "Photos in the Camera Roll on "iPhone" cannot be viewed or imported because the iPhone is locked with a passcode." I don't have a passcode though. I even created a new phone passcode just to see if it would work, and it never even gave me the option to enter one. Tried turning phone on/off, unplugging cord, reopening the image capture programs. Not sure what's going on since this new ios update. Any ideas?

I'm going through every solution I've found, and nothing works yet. I just want to confirm what worked for you... Are you saying that you turned off your passcode on your phone and this allowed you to connect to your computer? It didn't work for me, so I'm wondering if I did something different. Also, if anyone has any solutions that have popped up in the past few months, I'd love to hear them!

Hey Chuck, I called Apple Tech support about this back in March, 2017. They said there was no fix. And that I had no other choice but to upgrade my computer. I just came across this thread and you are the MAN! it worked for me! Thank you soooo much for this!!! I wish I had've seen your reply in March!! Thankfully I hadn't yet upgraded my computer like Apple told me I should. I have an iPhone 6 Plus 16gb and I had 0MB of space left. I have so many pictures on my phone! You just made my day!

had the same problem. Got with Apple Support and did the following: on the phone go to General Settings>reset>reset locations and privacy. Choose reset locations and privacy and then hook back to your computer. The phone will ask if you trust the computer.Say yes. Then the import should work. I did the same thing mentioned of putting a passcode in (which I did not have set up) and if you do have a passcode then the phone will ask for it when you reset. I took my passcode out, or turned it off and tried and the problems recurred. Went through the above without a passcode turned on and the same sequence happened: trust the computer?>yes> import worked.THING IS FOR ME I HAVE TO DO THIS EACH TIME I IMPORT NOW. THE ABOVE WORKS, BUT IT USED TO BE SO SIMPLE!

i meant OAS, where they will most likely refer you to the Genius Bar, where they will tell you to update all your devices, and if that doesn't work will say sorry if your phone is out of warranty. but, maybe it's to do with the fierce competition war, and they treat customers as possible enemy troops; and suppling meaningful info re bugs etc as unwanted and uncecessary exposure.

finally, even with resetting the location settings, i had the iphoto problem again, and had to reset the location services again. brill
